Locals

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Name: Mark
Age: 39
Location: Just outside Exeter
Job: Graphic Designner
Bike: Santa Cruz Nomad Carbon

How long have you been riding?
I've been riding for about 20 years

How Often do you ride?
I try and get out about 3 times a week I guess.

What Bike are you currently riding and talk us through your set up??
Well I ride a Santa Cruz Nomad Carbon with a carbon and orange theme going on. Its got orange Chris King hubs and headset, Fox Talas Front Forks and Fox DHX5 rear shock, Rock Shox Reverb Seatpost and Sram transmission all round with Orange X.0 rear mech with matching shifters and the Truvativ Noir carbon cranks. I also run DMR Vault pedals.

The bike was built with the help from the guys at The Bike Shed in Exeter. They helped me build it up as the absolute bike of my dreams I owe it all to  Mike, Adam, Keith, Jimmy and Ryan who pulled it all together for me. They are a great bunch of guys who have a real passion for the sport of mountain biking.

What types of riding do you normally do?
I normally ride freeride and a bit of cross country really.

What was the last new bit of gear on your bike?
The last new bit on here was a new front chainring. The new one on here is blue.

What are your local trails?
My local trails are here at Haldon. Gawton and Woodbury. I've ridden up at the Quantocks in the past as well.

Whats Your favourite part on the bike?
Thats gotta be the Chris King hubs. Its the sound you just can't beat it.

Locals

This bike is fully tricked out. Top of the range components all over.

Next upgrade planned for the bike?
I'm thinking about upgrading to the new 2013 Shimano Saint Brakes, Jimmy & Tony from the Bike Shed have both expressed their total love for those brakes, and they aren't usually wrong. I've also read some pretty good reviews. So yeah it'll probably be the new Saint brakes.

What other bikes do you own?
I have a Trek Madone road bike but thats all.
